Summer Reading Challenge

The Summer Reading Challenge for children of all ages continues at the Melvin Library through July and into August.  Kids can win prizes by reading books and recording them in their book logs.  New books are being added to the collection every month including "The Fault in Our Stars," a bestselling novel for young adults by John Green.

August Pageturners

Circle of Three by Patricia Gaffney is the selection for the August 12 Pageturner book club meeting and copies are available for pick up at the library.  The book discussions begin at 7:00 p.m. and new members are always welcome!

The book club meeting is this evening, July 8, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the library and the book for discussion is “Broken for You” by Stephanie Kallos.  There are also changes to the reading list for the next few months and the changes are as follows:

New Kids' Books

Popular new children's books at Melvin Public Library include Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days the seventh in the Jeff Kinney series, My Brother is a Big Fat Liar by James Patterson, Emeraldalicious by Victoria Kann, Superhero Silliness  by Tony Abbott, Wiggle  by Doreen Cronin and Cookies by Keith Baker.

New Books

New books recently added to the library's collection include Stone Cold by David Baldacci, The Blossom Sisters, A Blossom Street novel by Fern Michaels, Home Front by Kristin Hannah, Sitka by Louis L'Amour and Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella.

Summer Reading

Melvin Public Library Summer Reading Challenge is officially under way!  Beginning last Saturday, June 1, young people can read 3 or more books at or near their reading level and win prizes at the library, all summer long!  Any age may participate so stop by the library and sign up now!
