New Movies Arrive At Library

Melvin Library is a member of the Video Co-op, a group of libraries in the Lincoln Trail Libraries System who jointly purchase and rotate current popular films. Each collection contains about 70 titles and remains in the library for one month.

Several new movies have just arrived to join the collection currently in our library including Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell, Michael Jackson's This Is It, Pandorum and Whip It. Rotating movies check out overnight and may be renewed twice, and there is no charge to check out a movie from the library, unless of course it is returned late :)

National Library Week

National Library Week continues through Saturday, April 17 and there is plenty of time to visit the library and see what material and services are available to you!

We are currently holding our popular book giveaway and each member of the public may choose three free books from our book sale area each day of National Library Week.

We also want to thank everyone for the nice comments we are hearing about the library's landscaping, it's great to know the improvements we make to the library do not go unnoticed!

Celebrate National Library Week

Celebrate National Library Week April 11-17 at Melvin Public Library! The theme for this year's annual event is "Communities thrive @ your library."

It's a good time to visit your local library and see what sort of material and services are offered. At our library you may check out books, audiobooks, magazines and movies. And a brand new program makes it possible for you to check out a cake pan!

We also offer a public access computer, printer and Internet access, as well as a copy machine, fax services, tax forms, large print books, reference and genealogy material, newspaper on microfilm, student financial aid forms, adult book discussion group and a summer reading program for kids.
