Ford County Fair

Beginning next Sunday, June 25th and running through Saturday, July 1st it's the Ford County Fair week at the fairgrounds here in Melvin, Illinois.  There are rides and attractions, a queen pageant, talent show, demo derby and tractor pull plus lots of food and music.  See the fair website at http://fordcountyfair.org/.

Pageturners


Just a reminder that Pageturners book club meets next Monday, June 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the library to discuss “Fly Away” by Kristin Hannah.  The book for July will be “The Boston Girl” by Anita Diamant.

Summer Reading


The Summer Reading Challenge for youth began May 30 and runs all summer long!  Young people can win prizes for reading and benefit from keeping those reading skills sharp over the summer as well as enjoying the gift of a good book!
